Meet Michelle Gardner
(she/her)
Professional Counselor Intern
Michelle believes healing and personal growth are possible when individuals recognize the power they have to create meaningful change in their lives. She approaches counseling from a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, viewing therapy as a collaborative process in which clients are the experts of their own experiences. Michelle sees her role as walking alongside clients, helping them access their inner strengths and develop the confidence and tools needed to navigate life’s challenges.
Michelle has experience supporting clients through life transitions, anxiety, and relationship challenges, including work incorporating Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to help clients manage stress, gain clarity, and move forward with greater self-awareness. She is passionate about helping individuals and couples rediscover their sense of self, adjust to new circumstances, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
As a veteran spouse, Michelle brings a unique perspective and deep empathy for the experiences of military families and partners navigating the demands of military life and transition. She strives to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe exploring their experiences and empowered to move toward positive change.
Michelle is a counseling intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Walden University and provides services under the supervision of Chris Cleaver. She is committed to offering a supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and encouraged as they work toward the life and relationships they desire.
