Meet Nikki Pennish
(she/they)
Marriage and Family Therapist Associate
Nikki is a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who provides trauma-informed and affirming therapy for individuals and people in all types of relationships. She is especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ people across identities and relationship structures, neurodiverse clients, folks navigating identity and empowerment, and those living with chronic illness and/or chronic pain.
Practicing under the supervision of Kelle DeBruin, Nikki approaches therapy with strong clinical training and deep respect for each client's unique lived experience. They believe that our relationships, identities, cultures, communities, and life experiences all shape how we move through the world. Nikki understands that many challenges are influenced not only by what happens within us, but also by the environments and systems we navigate every day.
Her style is conversational, relational, and humanistic. Clients often share that sessions feel natural and easy, more like an authentic conversation than "traditional therapy”, while still offering meaningful insight and growth. Nikki believes healing happens through genuine connection. She shows up as a human first: warm, engaged, and real. Humor, when appropriate, is welcomed in the room alongside depth and vulnerability.
Nikki is committed to providing respectful, affirming care and to continually learning and growing so they can show up in the most supportive way possible. They don't see themselves as the expert on your life—you are. Their role is to bring clinical knowledge, thoughtful questions, and compassionate support while honoring your autonomy, values, and goals.
At the heart of Nikki's work is empowerment. Therapy is a collaborative process where your strengths, values, desires, and fears are explored at your own pace, with curiosity, validation, and care. She believes deeply in each person's capacity for growth and in creating space for both the messiness and the magic of embracing your full self.
If you're looking for a collaborative, affirming, and grounded place to explore who you are and where you want to go, Nikki is here to support you.
