Meet Steve Manthe
(he/him)
Professional Counselor Associate
Steve helps individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with resilience, insight, and clarity. After a 25-year career in organizational development and corporate leadership roles, he transitioned to counseling, where he developed a deep commitment to supporting personal growth and strengthening relationships. Steve views therapy as a collaborative, trust-based process grounded in empathy, respect, and practical change.
Steve works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship distress, career uncertainty, and life transitions. While open to working with clients of all ages and genders, he has a special focus on men’s mental health, supporting adolescent through middle-aged men as they navigate depression, anxiety, insecurity, substance use, loneliness, and the pressures of work, relationships, and family responsibilities—struggles that are often hidden behind anger, irritability, or the expectation to “tough it out.” Steve provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space to reduce stigma, strengthen coping skills, foster healthier relationships, and find purpose.
His integrative, goal-oriented approach draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, Narrative, and Gestalt therapies. He tailors treatment to each client’s needs, helping them build insight toward meaningful, sustainable change.
Steve holds an M.A. in Counseling from NYU, an MBA from Auburn, and a coaching certification from UC Berkeley. Outside of work, Steve is a 23-year husband, proud father, trail runner, lifelong learner, and occasional SCUBA diver. He brings both lived experience and professional depth to his work, offering a grounded, relatable presence in the therapy room.
