Meet Peter Taylor

Clinical Social Worker Associate

Peter holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver and a Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado, where he focused on climate and disaster resilience and community behavioral health. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Utah State University—with minors in American Sign Language and sociology—and an Associate’s Degree in Music from Boise State University.

Peter specializes in men’s mental and behavioral health, with a strong commitment to breaking down the stigma that often prevents men from seeking help. His therapeutic style is client-centered, rooted in the belief that effective treatment must address both internal experiences—like thoughts, behaviors, and emotions—and external challenges in a person’s environment.

He draws heavily from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help men build emotional resilience, develop healthier thought patterns, and improve communication and coping skills. He also incorporates Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and mindfulness-based techniques to tailor treatment plans to each client’s unique goals and strengths.

In addition to his focus on men’s health, Peter has worked extensively with immigrant and refugee communities. For his capstone at the University of Colorado, he developed a framework for integrating client well-being specialists into immigration law firms. He is fluent in Spanish and currently learning Chinese.
