Meet Angela Christensen

(she/her)
Professional Counselor Intern

Angela approaches therapy with curiosity, compassion, and genuine respect for each person’s unique experiences. She works with both individuals and couples and understands that our stories are shaped by our relationships, life experiences, challenges, and strengths. She believes therapy provides a supportive space to explore these experiences without judgment, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with the resilience that already exists within us. Sometimes, a fresh perspective and a strong therapeutic relationship can help us recognize the strengths and possibilities that are already within reach.

Angela earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Oregon State University and is currently completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University while working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Her education has emphasized advocacy, diversity, cultural humility, and ethical practice, strengthening her commitment to creating an inclusive and affirming environment where clients from all backgrounds feel welcomed, respected, and valued.

Angela’s therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychoeducation. She helps clients explore the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships, recognizing that greater understanding can create opportunities for meaningful and intentional change. She also has a special interest in the mind-body connection and helps clients build awareness of how emotional experiences can show up physically and affect overall well-being.

Angela considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they develop a deeper understanding of themselves, build on their strengths, and navigate change. Her goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported in discovering what matters most to them and moving toward a life that feels more balanced, connected, and authentic.
