Meet Jessica De Clerck
(she/her)
Professional Counselor Associate
Jessica believes therapy works best when it is highly collaborative and tailored to the individual or couple. She takes a person-centered approach, drawing from Gestalt, Solution-Focused Therapy, DBT, and Nonviolent Communication. She believes her role is to walk alongside clients as they uncover greater levels of self-awareness, better understand their needs and patterns, and identify practical ways to create meaningful change. She strives to balance compassion with honesty, offering support while also gently exploring where clients may feel stuck.
She often works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, overwhelm, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. She is particularly drawn to working with clients who know what they want but aren't sure how to get there. With couples, she helps partners slow down difficult interactions, better understand the dynamics they get caught in, communicate their needs more effectively, and create more room for authentic connection.
Jessica holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations. She brings more than two decades of experience in humanitarian aid and environmental protection to her work as a therapist, including service with Doctors Without Borders in Nigeria, where she coordinated the importation of medicines and medical supplies, and nearly a decade in Uganda, where she managed a nonprofit focused on building climate resilience among rural farmers and refugee communities. Outside of therapy, Jessica enjoys travel, reading, spending time in nature, and sharing good food with family and friends. She is supervised by Chris Cleaver.
